Spotlight on Commercial HVAC & Mechanical Installation: WIN Waste Innovations Transfer Center
At Denommee Plumbing, HVAC & Electric, our customers have come to rely on us delivering top-tier commercial HVAC installation services to businesses and facilities across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Recently, our team had the opportunity to collaborate with Tewksbury Welding on a major project for WIN Waste Innovations Centers in Leominster, MA. The project involved the construction of a 32,500-square-foot facility designed to handle and process 1,000 tons of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and Construction & Demolition (C&D) debris.
Our team was tasked with providing a comprehensive HVAC installation solution that would not only ensure optimal air quality but also meet the rigorous demands of such a large and industrial facility. In this post, we’ll take you through the details of this project, highlighting our expertise in commercial HVAC systems, MEP estimation, and project management for commercial clients in the region.
A Complex HVAC Installation for a Unique Facility
The WIN Waste Innovations Centers facility in Leominster is a highly specialized environment. As a facility that processes a significant amount of waste, ensuring adequate air ventilation and a controlled indoor climate is essential for both the safety of workers and the facility’s operational efficiency.
Our team at Denommee Plumbing, HVAC & Electric was brought in to design and install an HVAC system that would meet these complex requirements. This included the installation of a full sheet metal ductwork system, along with high-efficiency rooftop ventilation units to ensure the space had optimal ventilation and air quality.
Complete Sheet Metal Ductwork Installation
The first step in our HVAC installation was to fabricate and install a complete sheet metal ductwork system. This system consisted of a variety of duct types, including square, round, and spiral ducts. These ducts were designed to distribute conditioned air throughout the entire 32,500-square-foot facility, ensuring a comfortable and healthy environment for the building’s operations.
Our team of experts carefully planned the placement and configuration of the ducts to ensure maximum air distribution efficiency, while also adhering to all relevant building codes and industry standards. The use of high-quality materials and precision installation techniques helped us create a durable, reliable system that will provide excellent service for years to come.
Mitsubishi Citi Multi VRF and PremiSys Rooftop Ventilation Units
To complement the ductwork system, we also installed Mitsubishi Citi Multi VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) units and PremiSys rooftop ventilation units. These systems were selected for their high energy efficiency and ability to provide 100% fresh air ventilation, which is crucial in a facility like this one that processes large amounts of waste materials.
The Mitsubishi Citi Multi VRF system is known for its superior performance and flexibility, allowing for both heating and cooling throughout the facility. It uses advanced technology to efficiently control the flow of refrigerant to different areas of the building, ensuring consistent comfort levels in all zones.
Meanwhile, the PremiSys rooftop ventilation units were installed to provide fresh, clean air intake for the entire building. These units are specifically designed for commercial and industrial settings, offering excellent air circulation and ensuring that indoor air quality remains optimal at all times.
Together, the VRF system and rooftop units work in harmony to provide continuous airflow, making sure that the building remains well-ventilated while maintaining a comfortable indoor climate.
Commercial HVAC MEP Estimation: Accurate Planning for Complex Projects
One of the key factors that contributed to the success of this project was the accurate and timely MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) estimation we provided from the very start. At Denommee Plumbing, HVAC & Electric, we utilize cutting-edge technologies such as FastEST and AutoCAD to ensure precise estimations for even the most complex HVAC projects.
Why MEP Estimation Matters
Accurate MEP estimation is a critical part of any commercial HVAC installation. It ensures that the project stays on budget and on schedule, preventing costly delays and unexpected costs down the line. For a project of this size and complexity, having detailed estimates for the HVAC systems, ductwork, and ventilation units was essential for effective project planning and coordination.
Our team of professional commercial MEP estimators is trained to analyze engineered plans and provide detailed takeoffs that help contractors, developers, and facility owners make informed decisions about their HVAC needs. With our extensive experience in the commercial HVAC industry, we’re able to accurately estimate the costs for all aspects of the installation, from materials and labor to equipment and permits.
By providing detailed HVAC estimates, we can avoid unexpected surprises during the installation process, which ensures that our clients can stay on track with their budgets and timelines.
Commercial HVAC Project Management: Delivering Quality on Time and on Budget
When it comes to commercial HVAC project management, Denommee Plumbing, HVAC & Electric is committed to ensuring that every project runs smoothly from start to finish. From initial planning and estimation to the final installation and commissioning, our project management team works tirelessly to make sure everything is executed with precision and efficiency.
For the WIN Waste Innovations Centers project, our project managers coordinated every aspect of the HVAC installation, including logistics, scheduling, and communication with other contractors and vendors. We understand that timely project completion is critical in commercial construction, and we’re dedicated to keeping the project on track.
Coordination with Other Contractors
In a large, multi-faceted construction project like this one, it’s essential to coordinate with other contractors involved in the build. Our team worked closely with Tewksbury Welding and other subcontractors to ensure that the HVAC system was installed at the right stage of the project. Our project managers helped streamline communication and facilitated seamless coordination, ensuring there were no delays or disruptions in the schedule.
Focus on Quality and Safety
Throughout the project, we maintained a strict focus on quality control and safety. We ensured that all installation work adhered to the highest industry standards and local building codes, which are especially important in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Our team conducted regular inspections and quality checks to ensure the system was operating correctly before moving on to the next phase.
